OUR CAUSE
The University of Sydney Health and Lifestyle Society (HALS) was revamped and reformed in mid-2011, when 3 girls decided that it was high-time that everyone should be able to access healthy food, afford yoga/pilates classes, enjoy meditation and be part of a community of like minded people.
The vision is simple:
+ To enrich students’ lives by introducing the concept of a healthy lifestyle; to focus on each individual’s sense of wellbeing, physically, mentally and spiritually.
The vision is HUGE:
+ To reach out to the broader community (beyond university) and to enrich the lives of others who are less fortunate.
+ To promote teamwork and group support amongst members.
+ To promote and encourage to the broader student community the concept of “Peace and Kindness”.
In short, HALS is a cause, to creating a divine society. We want Sydney University to be able to provide the students, staff and citizens of Sydney, with ability to live a wholesome, wondrous life!
WHO WE ARE
HALS is run by a group of dedicated members addressed formally as “The Executive”. They work hard to ensure that you have the best food, the best yoga teachers and the best experience that HALS can offer. Below is the list of the past and present executive, all of them which we are incredibly grateful for.
The Executive yearn for HALS to grow and thrive and hopefully become one of the oldest, strongest and greatest societies in Sydney for many generations to come (we’re serious! That’s why we work so hard!)
